Biography

Gae Aulenti believes that space should be determined by the interior rather than the objects in it. Her designs for interiors and products are modern without using geometric formalism. Rather, she advocates a humanized form of Modernism.
In 1964 she received first prize at the Milan Triennale, for her installation 'Arrivo al mare' inspired by Picasso she had mirrored walls with cut-out silhouettes of women.
